A stunning hand forged sanmai/ cumai paring knife . The core is 15n20 then a layer of copper, then 26 layer damascus , then more copper and a 15n20 cladding . San mai is a Japanese sword making technique that allows for a hard steel core that stays sharp and the softer jacket either side allowing for some flexibility. Cumai is sanmai with copper layers

The handle is made from gidgee timber with copper and G10 spacers

Blade length is 120 mm ( 4 3/4 inches) and its 29mm deep at the heel. overall length is 255mm . the spine is 2 m wide at the heel with a distal taper to less than 1mm near the tip . Weight is about 95 gm nice balance
