A stunning hand forged cumai damascus paring knife . The blade has 82 layers of 1084 and 15n20 carbon steel and 4 layers of copper . San mai means “3 layers” in Japanese and is a Japanese sword making technique that allows for a hard steel core that stays sharp and the softer jacket either side allowing for some flexibility. Cumai is a name used to describe sanmai knives made with copper
The hidden tang handle is made from stabilised blackwood timber with copper and G10 spacers
A small Blade length is 80mm (3 1/4 inches) and its 30 mm deep at the heel. Overall length is 210 mm . The spine is 3.4 mm near the handle and tapers to a very fine point, good for delicate work in the kitchen The handle is 115mm long, 17mm wide, 23mm tall.
