A stunning hand forged cumai damascus chef knife . The blade has 82 layers of 1084 and 15n20 carbon steel and 4 layers of copper . San mai means “3 layers” in Japanese and is a Japanese sword making technique that allows for a hard steel core that stays sharp and the softer jacket either side allowing for some flexibility. Cumai is a name used to describe sanmai knives made with copper

The full tang handle is made from yarran imber with copper pins.

Blade length is 187mm ( 7 ½ inches) and its 45 mm deep at the heel. Overall length is 310 mm . The spine is 3mm near the handle and tapers to a very fine point, good for delicate work in the kitchen The octagonal handle is 130mm long, 22mm wide, 21mm tall. weight is 160gm with a nice balance
