A stunning hand forged san mai chef knife . The core is 1075/15n20 60 layer damascus carbon steel and mild steel as a cladding. There is also a thin layer of nickel between the layers . San mai is a Japanese sword making technique that allows for a hard steel core that stays sharp and the softer jacket either side allowing for some flexibility.

The handle is made from sheoak timber with copper and G10 spacers

Blade length is 145mm ( 5 3/4 inches) and its 40mm deep at the heel. overall length is 300mm . the spine is 2.8 m wide at the heel with a distal taper to less than 1mm near the tip . Weight is about 110 gm nice balance
