A stunning hand forged san mai style knife . The core is 1084 carbon steel with 20 layer damascus (1084/15n20) as a cladding. There is also a thin layer of copper between the layers . San mai is a Japanese sword making technique that allows for a hard steel core that stays sharp and the softer jacket either side allowing for some flexibility. cumai is a name given to sanmai using copper

The hidden tang handle is made from bowyakka timber with copper and G10 spacers

Blade length is 190 mm ( 7 1/2 inches) and its 46 mm deep at the heel. overall length is 340 mm . The handle is 135mm long, a narrow 22 mm wide, 26mm deep, The spine is 3 mm wide near the handle tapering to less than 1mm near the tip, weight is 170 gm nice balance
