A stunning hand forged san mai chef knife . The damscus core is 1084 carbon steel and 1084 steel is also used as a cladding. There is also a thin layers of copper the steel layers . San mai is a Japanese sword making technique that allows for a hard steel core that stays sharp and the softer jacket either side allowing for some flexibility. Cumai is a name given to sanmai knives using copper

The handle is made from stabilised blackwood with a gidgee bolster and copper and G10 spacers

Blade length is 220 mm (8 1/2 inches) and its 43mm deep at the heel. overall length is 380 mm . the spine is 2.6 mm wide near the handle with a distal taper to less than 1mm near the tip . Weight is about 200 gm nice balance
