The damscus core is 40 layers of 1084 and 15n20 carbon steel then a layer of copper, a layer of 1084, more copper and then another 20 layers of 1084/15n20 damascus steel as a cladding. . San mai is a Japanese sword making technique that allows for a hard steel core that stays sharp and the softer jacket either side allowing for some flexibility. Cumai is a name given to sanmai knives using copper
The hidden tang handle is made of stabilised european plane timber with copper and G10 spacers
Blade length is 120 mm (4 3/4 inches) and its 33 mm deep at the heel. overall length is 245 mm . the spine is 3.3 mm wide near the handle with a distal taper to less than 1mm near the tip . The handle is 116mm long, 19mm wide and 24mm at its deepest .
