The damscus core is 40 layers of 1084 and 15n20 carbon steel then a layer of copper, a layer of 1084, more copper and then another 20 layers of 1084/15n20 damascus steel as a cladding. . San mai is a Japanese sword making technique that allows for a hard steel core that stays sharp and the softer jacket either side allowing for some flexibility. Cumai is a name given to sanmai knives using copperThe hidden tang handle is made from bowyakka timber with copper and G10 spacers
Nakiri knives are a Japanese style of knife used to prepare vegetables.
Blade length is 145 mm ( 5 3/4 inches) and its 50 mm deep at the heel. overall length is 290 mm . The handle is 130mm long, a narrow 21mm wide, 28mm deep, The spine is 3.3mm wide near the handle then about 2.2mm ( on average) for the length of the blade , weight is 190gm and it is nicely balanced
