A stunning hand forged san mai chef knife . The core is 20 layer damascus carbon steel (1084/15n20) and l084 as a cladding. There is also a thin layer of copper between the layers . San mai is a Japanese sword making technique that allows for a hard steel core that stays sharp and the softer jacket either side allowing for some flexibility. cumai is a name given to sanmai using copper

The hidden tang handle is made from bowyakka timber with copper and G10 spacers

Blade length is 215mm mm ( 8 ½ inches) and its 46 mm deep at the heel. overall length is 3755 mm . The handle is 140mm long 20mm wide and 27mm deep . the spine is 2.5mm wide near the handle and tapers to under 1mm towards the tip . weight is 204gm, nice balance
