A stunning hand forged san mai / cumai paring knife . The core is 1084/15n20 20 layer damascus carbon steel and 15n20 as a cladding. There is also a thin layer of copper between the core and the cladding . San mai is a Japanese sword making technique that allows for a hard steel core that stays sharp and the softer jacket either side allowing for some flexibility. Cumai is sanmai made with copper

The handle is made from stabilised blackwood timber with copper and G10 spacers

Blade length is 105mm ( 4 inches) and its 29 mm deep at the heel. overall length is 250mm . the spine is 2.6 m wide at the heel with a distal taper to less than 1mm near the tip . Weight is about 115 gm
