A stunning hand forged san mai paring knife . The damscus core is 20 layers of 1075 and 15n20 carbon steel then a layer of copper, then mild steel as a cladding. . San mai is a Japanese sword making technique that allows for a hard steel core that stays sharp and the softer jacket either side allowing for some flexibility. Cumai is a name given to sanmai knives using copper

The handle is made from stabilised banksia with copper and G10 spacers

Blade length is 130 mm (5 inches) and its 36 mm deep at the heel. overall length is 270mm . the spine is 3.2 mm wide near the handle with a distal taper to less than 1mm near the tip . Weight is about 110 gm nice balance
